Love

What is love?
Love is when two people have strong feelings of admiration for each other
Love is going out of your way for someone else
Love is forgiving someone when they've wronged you
But the words "I love you"
Are used so often that the meaning has slipped away from us
"I love you" said every morning and every night to family members
"I love you" said to friends as a farewell or for comfort
Love is an extremely delicate and fragile thing
Few find the true happiness that only God can bring through love
Saying "I love you" is supposed to be a special moment
A privilege to hear
What's the point of saying it
When all we do is throw it in the air
And hope someone catches it
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.
Love never fails."
What a joy to have love!
Again it is a most special gift that we can receive
And yet half the time we are not even sure
We are using it correctly
Or, we only say it because someone else has said it first
And it's polite to say it back.
So what is "love" to you?
